Bergen Sole Podiatry ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to bergensole.com only; how we handle your medical information is described separately in our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
Information we collect
This website does not require an account and does not itself store personal information on our servers. Information reaches us in the following ways:
- Appointment request form. When you submit the form, it opens an email in your own email app addressed to us, containing the details you entered (name, phone, email, preferred day/time, and reason for visit). Nothing is stored by the website itself; the information is sent only when you choose to send that email.
- Contacting us directly. If you call, email, or book through a third-party service such as Zocdoc, we receive the information you provide there.
- Site preferences. We store your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared through your browser settings at any time.
We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
How we use information
We use the information you send us to respond to your inquiry, schedule and confirm appointments, verify insurance benefits when you ask us to, and communicate with you about your care. Please don't include sensitive medical details in the website form or general email — save those for your visit or a phone call.
Third-party services
Parts of this site are provided by third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Zocdoc — online appointment booking
- OnPatient — our patient portal
- Google — the embedded map, web fonts, and (when shown) our Google reviews
When you interact with these services, the information you provide goes to those companies under their policies. We encourage you to review them.
Children's privacy
Our website is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect information from children. Appointment requests for minors should be submitted by a parent or guardian.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information you send us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, so please use the phone for anything sensitive.
Your choices
You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you from website interactions, or to ask us to correct or delete it. Requests relating to your medical record are handled under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision.
